That was pretty funny Dave. Blue, white, red whats the difference at this point. Last night I watched Canadian College Hockey. How crazy is that? I discovered this channel on cable called CSTV. I think it stands for College Sports Television. Either way it was the first game of hockey I watched all year and I was hooked.

Yeah, I'm kinda in sports limbo now. Football is over. Baseball is an endless ordeal. The NBA needs to play more like the college game to be of any interest--too much one-on-one crap. And hockey is dead. Is this the year I become a NASCAR fan?
I would honestly prefer to watch Arena Football right now if they could at least change the rules to allow for some defense. A typical AFL score is like 63-59.

And that score would indicate a good job by both defenses. I wonder how those defenders feel after a game. I mean talk about knock to your confidence. Qurarterback throws for 500 yards every game, 7 touchdown passes. I can only assume not many defensive players get taken seriously by NFL scouts.
But back to the blue ice, that would look too much like those ordor patties they put in urinals in public rest rooms. Don't you think so?

Yes, it will definitely encourage fans to urinate on the ice. (At least more than usual.)
Call me crazy, but I hate the idea of changing the blue line to an orange line. Make the puck orange and keep that little blue glowy TV aura around it. That will help new fans follow the action.
As painful as it may be to die-hards, hockey broadcasters should be as accessible to newbies as possible--explaining EVERYTHING.

What they should be doing is widen the ice surface, but they won't ever do that because that means less seating. As far as ur other suggestions go ... NO FREAKIN WAY MAN!!! The glow puck thing was a joke. It didn't work when FOX did it and it won't work now. What they need to be doing is go to a penalty shot overtime. NO MORE TIES. They are useless. Bring something extra. The move to four man lines in over time was a good addition, but they need to expand on that. Gimmicky things like ice color and different color pucks wont do anything.

Yeah, wider, Olympic-style hockey.
Y'know, old time hockey...Eddie Shore.
