For three seasons now I've been proud to say that I have never been part of the American Idol phenomenon. Until this season I never even gave it much thought aside from making fun of the Bindy kid that works with me for listenting to and worshiping Kelly Clarkson. A few weeks ago Dave McAwesome kept pumping up the new season, saying how he couldn't wait. He said the first two weeks are great. Watching Simon and company weed out the worst America had to offer was priceless.
Now in the past if Dave says something is worth watching I say, hell I'll give it a shot. Now I'll admit I got hooked. AI offered plenty of embarrassing moments and laughter for all, but now the contest has moved along and I'm still watching. I dont know why I'm watching, but I find myself routing for certain contestants. I catch myself saying things like "Ohhh you got to keep her she's good. She's got a voice."
This saddens me. Even as I write this there is an American Idol Ad at the top. I thought I was above this, but yet again I find myself in another shameful moment. So to you all I say, my name is Cris Italia, I'm fat, and I like to watch American Idol. Let the insults fly.

What the frack?
Mario Vasquez quit the show today. He's 100% out...doesn't even appear on the web site anymore (and you can bet they won't mention him on-air anymore). Nikko-of-the-Hat has replaced him.
This is a big shock because it was pretty clear that he was being molded by the subtle manipulations of RandyPaulaSimon to at least make it to the final two, if not win altogether. Now what?
As much as they like Anthony Federov and his Throat Hole of Love, they keep reminding us that he's "just like Clay Aiken." (Which is a big lie, because he's nothing like Clay. Clay sparkled like a Barbie Dreamhouse. Clay was Fabulous--with two snaps.) Anthony, clearly, is a boy. Anyway, they don't want him to win, because, in RandyPaulaSimon's mind, they already have a Clay and they like him just fine.
That leaves few potential winners (because, let's face it, there's no way Anwar, Scott, Jessica and several others will survive). Let's see, there's...
1) Carrie Underwood. America loves her. The judges love her. But so what...? Where there's one Carrie Underwood, there's a million. Lift up any rock in America, and you'll find a shopping mall full of Carrie Underwoods. Final five? Sure. The next American Idol? Nah.
2) Constantine MarolegolasachooGodblessyou. People are responding well to this guy, but come on. His voice is like fingernails on a blackboard and that blackboard is made of crying babies. He's skeevy. Worst of all, he's fake. (This "hard rocker" has appeared in touring companies of Rent, and his appearence on Elimidate, speaks volumes about how badly he just wants to be on TV.) Bo Bice is twice as talented and completely not full of crap, but he lacks teenybopper appeal. Constantine? Final three. I'm vomiting already.
3) Nadia Turner. She's awesome! She can sing. She has stage presence and a unique look. Therefore, she's doomed.
So who's the next American Idol. Who knows. Mario effed it up for everybody. I'd like to see Mikalah win, just to spite Simon, who will then have to figure out some way to market her.

I long since stopped watching (once the car wrecks stop, so does my patience). Man, I can't tell one of those girls from another. They're so interchangeable this year.

Oh my God! I turn around for one minute and this site is fully engulfed in a real American Idol discussion. I urge you all to refrain. I will not stand by and see this happen. I agree with Dave. Once the messes of human society are gone there is no point to watch the show. Let's end this madness now.
