Welcome to the 2004 Awesome Awards (better title pending).
Nominate your fave, I'll cull the results and put up a poll in a few weeks.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Good stuff there. Kaufman's scripts are always very clever. Plus Jim Carrey didn't act like an idiot.

I'll have to agree. Plus, it's got David Cross. "I'm TRYING to make a birdhouse."

I vote for Dawn of the Dead. Resident Evil 2 was fun and Shaun of the Dead was...well...British, but DotD had a shopping mall in it, and I like shopping malls.

"Sideways" gives serious chase to "Eternal Sunshine" in the best of '04 movie race. It quite deftly captures post-modern malaise in the face of abounding mediocrity without completely depressing you. It's very funny in spots, and certainly helps to supplement my own personal theory about the powers of wine as a life elixer.

Anybody see Garden State? Is that worth a nom?

Garden State is alright for an indie film. But without a doubt the best movie of last year has to be White Chicks.
