Well, that was a waste of time.
Every Congressperson at the hearing has a limited amount of time to ask their questions. And every single time I listen to a Congressional hearing, they waste several minutes thanking the people for coming (it's Congress, it's not like you can refuse) and explaining how important the issue is and how good it is for the country that blah, blah, blah...then they ask one harmless, non-question before their time is up.
"Mr. McGwire, would you be willing to do a public service announcement?"
I want to puke.
Mike Francesa: "If this is the way [Congress] runs the country, no wonder we're a mess."

"Mr. Comissioner let me get this straight. You take steroids one time you're still in baseball. Twice and still nothing. Three times and you can still play. Four times and yet a player can still remain part of the sport. But finally a fifth time that you just won't stand for. Is this your way of discouraging steriod use or promoting it?"
- One concerned Congress member
Bud Selig's reply.
"That's what it is for now. If I had my way it would be a lot stricter."
What I say to this.
"You are the biggest pussy in Major League Baseball history. Lock the fracking players out until you get a stricter plan going. You fracking big dopey lurch lookin bastard."

The worst thing about it is that it gave Ed Randall fodder for his snore-fest of a show, Ed Randall's Talking Baseball.
Otherwise, we could've reamed him for blathering on about spring training nonsense during the NCAA Tournament.
"Hi this is Ed Randall and you're listening to Ed Randall's Talking Baseball with Ed Randall. I'm your host, Ed Randall...we're talking baseball."
I hate that show with a passion I ought to reserve for much more important things.

What I can't understand is couldn't they find someone else to do that show? I mean who is this guy and where the F did he come from. He's interviews are horrible and he kisses way too much ass. My interest is actually peaked as to what he could have possiblely added to the Congressional hearings story. If for nothing else then to get a good laugh. I'd rather see the MOOSE host that show.

He actually had Bud Selig on his show today. AND he let callers ask him questions.
Now, on Mike and the Mad Dog, that would have been so awesome, I'd have to delete the entire contents of my website and devote the entire week to how awesome that would be. On Ed Randall's Talking Baseball, hosted by Ed Randall talking about baseball, it was hack-central: radio call letters WHAK.
Then he has Joe McIlvaine (sp?)...remember him? Ed Randall, the host of Ed Randall's Talking Baseball, introduces him as someone who can talk about the role of trainers and the use of steroid. His FIRST question begins, "now I know you don't know anything about steroids..."
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Son of a motherless goat, I hate that show. Again, it's Ed Randall's Talking Baseball, hosted by Ed Randall...talking about baseball.
